Terms and Conditions – Scholars Tutorial
Please read carefully before enrolling, registering, or subscribing. By proceeding, you agree to all terms and conditions outlined below.
1. General Terms
These Terms and Conditions apply to all users who enrol in in-person tuition, book in-person mock exams, or register/subscribe to our online services.
By enrolling, subscribing, or registering with Scholars Tutorial, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these terms in full.
Scholars Tutorial reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions and associated pricing at any time without prior notice.
2. Fees & Payments
In-Person Tuition:
- Scheduled lessons
- Course materials
- Structured homework
Fees are payable monthly in advance via Direct Debit.
Failure to pay may result in suspension or termination of access to tuition services.
Fees paid in advance are non-refundable, including missed sessions.
Course schedules are subject to change. Lessons may be rescheduled by Scholars Tutorial in unavoidable situations.
We observe holiday breaks during Christmas, Easter, and school term breaks—these are communicated in advance.
Online Subscriptions:
- Free Registration includes two free mock tests.
- Monthly Subscription: £19.99/month (cancel anytime). Subscription remains active until the paid period ends. No refunds for partial use.
- Annual Subscription: £99.99/year. No refunds available once payment is processed.
Online subscriptions include access to all full-length mock tests and performance analytics during the subscribed period.
Subscriptions and pricing are subject to change without prior notice.
3. Cancellations & Refunds
In-Person Tuition
In-person tuition enrolments require one month’s written notice for cancellation. Fees paid in advance are non-refundable, including where a student misses a class for any reason. No refunds will be issued for classes not attended.
In-Person Mock Exams and Booked Sessions
Fees paid for in-person mock exams, assessments, or other booked sessions are non-refundable if the student does not attend. If Scholars Tutorial is unable to deliver a booked session due to unforeseen circumstances, we may offer a rescheduled date or an alternative arrangement.
Online Subscriptions
- Monthly subscriptions may be cancelled at any time.
- If you cancel a monthly subscription, no further payments will be taken after cancellation, and access will continue until the end of the current paid billing period.
- No refund will be given for the current billing period or for partial use of a subscription.
- Annual subscriptions are non-refundable once payment has been processed.
- For all subscriptions, no refunds are available except where required by law. Where immediate access to digital content or online services has started with the customer’s express consent and acknowledgment, cancellation rights may end once supply begins.
Physical Goods (Printed Paper Sets)
Physical paper sets purchased through Scholars Tutorial are classed as physical goods. If you purchase a printed paper set online, you may cancel your order within 14 days of the day after you receive the item, without giving a reason.
- To cancel, you must notify us in writing within that 14-day period.
- Once you notify us, you must return the item within a further 14 days.
- Returned paper sets must be unused and in resaleable condition. We reserve the right to make a deduction from any refund if the item has been used, marked, damaged, or handled beyond what is reasonably necessary to inspect it.
- Unless the item is faulty, damaged, incorrect, or not as described, the customer is responsible for the cost of return postage. We recommend using a tracked service and keeping proof of posting.
- Where a refund is due for returned physical goods, it will be processed within 14 days of our receiving the returned item, or within 14 days of receiving proof that it has been returned, whichever is earlier.
- Refunds will be made using the original payment method unless otherwise agreed. If the customer paid for standard delivery, that basic delivery cost will also be refunded where required by law.
If a printed paper set is faulty, damaged, incorrect, or not as described, please contact us as soon as possible at info@scholarstutorial.co.uk. Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights in relation to faulty goods, including the short-term right to reject faulty goods within 30 days in applicable cases.
General
Scholars Tutorial does not guarantee that tuition, mock testing, printed materials, or online services will result in exam success or admission to any specific school or institution.
4. Pupil Safety & Parental Responsibilities
Students must be dropped off and collected promptly.
Parents are responsible for ensuring their children follow safety rules and behave appropriately during sessions.
Scholars Tutorial bears no responsibility or liability for:
- Personal accidents
- Loss, theft, or damage to belongings
We strongly advise families to take out personal insurance.
5. Safeguarding & CCTV Policies
We are committed to the safeguarding and welfare of all children in our care.
All staff are trained in basic safeguarding procedures and policies are reviewed regularly.
CCTV is in use in our premises for safety and monitoring. Footage is handled securely and confidentially.
6. Rescheduling & Missed Sessions
If Scholars Tutorial is unable to deliver a scheduled in-person class (due to unforeseen circumstances), a make-up class will be scheduled.
No financial reimbursement will be provided for rescheduled sessions.
